I bought this lightsaber to gut it and rip out the sound card. For it's value, the newer Hasbro lightsabers (the thinner ones that come with the DVD) are actually MUCH MUCH better. This particular lightsaber does the following:

LEDs flash / blink when clashing. There is only one swing/clash sensor and I think the board just alternates between the sounds.
The small additional lightsaber simply turns on and lights up, but does not have sound.

All in all, there are better (and actually cheaper) lightsabers out there - the newer ones cost around $20-25. Plus you get a 15 minute DVD along with them. Save your money for those. The boxes for those look like this:

This was absolutely filthy when it arrived! Fine dirt and little bits of grass covered the box and the toy itself. I would have sent it back, but my little girl was so excited that I couldn't bear to disappoint her. After about 10 minutes of cleaning it off and wondering what else might be covering it, I handed it over. Turns out it is a bit too difficult for an 18 month old. My 2 1/2 year old is obsessed with anything from Toy Story, especially Buzz & Woody. I wanted to buy him a toy that was most like Woody from the movie & I got this. It's wonderful. He has soooo many phrases, and the voice sounds just like the movie. His pull cord isn't like the ones from when I was a kid; it doesn't take a long time to wind back into the body, which I like, it seems more durable that way. I love that his boots, face & hands are plastic, but his arms, body & legs are soft, it makes him look & move like in the movie.
