Django [Blu-ray] Immediately

If you're a fan of the spaghetti western, then 'Django' is simply a must for your DVD collection.

This film is a classic, and hits all the buttons that you'd expect in a first rate alternative western: the minimalist backdrop, the high body count, the salon girls flashing their stockings, gold, the army fort, the saloon bar with its nonchalant owner, and, of course, the mysterious sharpshooter dressed in black and with piercing eyes.

Django is 88 minutes in a dark spaghetti western world where life is cheap and human qualities eventually try to shine through.

This DVD is a great offering as it includes a number of extras including an interview with Franco Nero (it's hard to imagine that he was only 23 years old when he starred in this). And as for the eye candy, well, there's the Italian beauty, Loredana Nusciak (who gets nine men killed in the opening sequence).

Overall, Django won't disappoint you if have a taste for very gritty westerns. Yes, there's extreme violence here - in particular, the ear-chopping-off scene (which got the film banned in some countries) but in reality there's little blood and the film has some serious undertones - such as racism, greed, deception and the power of weapons of mass destruction.

So go on, take a ride with Django.Get more detail about Django [Blu-ray].
